Elizabeth, I'm sorry. Sometimes I get upset if I feel like I'm being ignored or "blown off". I wish we could have better communication so things like this don't happen again. I'm sorry about your mom, I hope she gets better soon.
I really wish I could go with you guys. I know you'll have fun. I feel if I went, I would catch all kinds of guilt trips from you know who.
As far as tickets go, someone at Bankston's told me that the manager at Hollywood told him tickets would be on sale today or the next day. So I went by this afternoon and the lady at the ticketbooth told me they wouldn't be on sale until "around two weeks before opening night". So I guess I'll keep on checkin'

It's cool John boy.
Mom is doing well. The doctors don't think it was a heart attack but they are keeping her just to be safe. Plus she is very weak.
It goes without saying that everyone wants a Vader. Hell in the end really had to ask me and Joe for one. We'll try but I can't promise anything. So I'm signing off for tonight got to finish getting ready. I'll post when we get settled in the room.
Celebration 3 guys. Celebration 3.

We are here!
We are all beat. It was a two hour wait to get into C3 and that was the fan club.
More later....

Well, the hotel staff was in costume - rented and StarWars-esque. I thought it was cool up until they bumped us to BFE Indy. Bitches. I'm not happy about that.
But, on a brighter note - it's neat being a part of this. _ ALSO - it looks like it may be tough getting a Vader... they capped the line prior to us getting there.
More later

Forthcoming.... we just got back from the opening ceremonies. It rocked. I don't know how to say it, but it was just awesome.
They showed us a track from the dvd that's being released with the soundtrack. They're taking 16 tracks and putting video/audio with them. We saw Battle of the Heroes. Got to see a couple extra split seconds of ROTS - Obi Wan jumping out of his ship, and a little bit past that part in the trailer when Palpy throws lightning at Yoda.
So far, the lines have been bad, but not too bad. Nice people in line. for the most part.

The breakfast this morning with Captain Typho (Jay Laga'aia) was pretty fun. We were scared cause I was sick this morning, someone here at the hotel stole our passes to the breakfast and my recipt for my autograph tickets. Lucky my name was on a list and we got to go in anyway. . I got a cool 1977 Story of Star Wars record We saw a pretty cool Chewbacca and a sweet General Grievous costume. We saw the diaoroama(not sure about the spelling) were pretty sweet. Oh and the wait for the CIII store was about 7 hours

someone here at the hotel stole our passes to the breakfast and my recipt for my autograph tickets. Found out that they weren't stolen afterall.... the lady at the desk either didn't want to admit to picking it up, or didn't understand what a blue folder is. Oh well, all is good... Now - to upset everyone here... I stood in line today for 7 hours, in the cold, rain, and wind, and bought 4 more vaders, because my badge wasn't punched. Then I turned around and sold them for $30 each to passers by. I probably could have asked for more, but it seemed decent. Now I can afford gas back home.

You probably could have gotten $40 each, they are going for around $45-50 on Ebay now.
Did anybody go to the George Lucas event??

The people who waited for the George Lucas event started to wait in line around noon yesturday and I'm glad we didn't...cause last night it was cold, rainy, and this morning it was around low to mid 30's but that didn't include the windchill. We thought it would be cool to see the Flannel One but we didn't want it to ruin the experience if we didn't.

...wait in line around noon yesturday and I'm glad we didn't...cause last night it was cold, rainy Don''t forget the 30+ mph winds that tears through denim and cotton as though it isn't there! While I was in line for the store, a staff member came looking for people to attend the Lucas show. He came twice, and I was tempted - but I was on a scalping mission, for I needed a little more cash in case I needed some on the trip home. Small recap - Thursday sucked for the most part, but the opening ceremony rocked. The Making of Revenge panel was nice. Knoll had donated some shots of a clone trooper holding a dead Jar Jar and Palpatine playing a piano. Friday was better, but it was still annoying with the way that GENCON handled the crowd. I was glad to get into the store. Joe and Elizabeth had breakfast with Jay Laga'aia and were able to get into the con early (meaning on time-since they didn't have to wait in line). Saw the droid room, a stormtrooper picking his seat, the fan fair room, and lots of great costumes. Saturday was the best. Even though I had to wait in line 7 hrs for my scalping mission, Joe and Elizabeth were able to get in witn mimimal wait. They hit the autograph room and saw Nick Gilliard hudled against the wall next to the fanclub lounge. After leaving the hell that is called the Celebration Store, I was able to grab Joe from the autograph room and head over to the Star Wars Specatular - with Rick McCallum. Funny thing is that he didn't swear a bit. Watched about 10 mins of new footage (rocked!), Rick took questions, showed us some animatics (could be on the DVD), took more questions, then decided to show us the footage again. Then we were able to slide right into a Trilogy in 30 showing - funny as hell. Then we met up with Brian from Dallas in his Season 3 clone kenobi. Hit the Fan Fair room.Hit the dealer room, then left. in the snow. Sunday will have J & E doing their best cleanup today, while I'll be changing a tire and hitting I-70 west towards St. Louis. I am really glad that I was able to go. I met so many fans and people that I've only seen on the boards. Talked shop with Fetts and Troopers, got to be a scalper for a few minutes, and contemplated shoplifting a MR saber. Although this convention started out on a bad note and some serious crowd mismanagement, it ended for me on a high note. The Spectacular had me refocusing onto why we all were here, and made me smile the rest of the day. I'm gonna miss this place when I leave, but I'm ready to sleep in my own bead with my wife and kids. We'll need to set up a meeting some time soon so we can give you all a break down of our trip. See you guys soon!
