Call me an ass. But I really was hoping that we'd all go to C3 this year. 500 dollars is not NEARLY ENOUGH money for c3,when you go you will understand what I am talking about.The total cost of going to c3 with ENOUGH money to actually do something will run well over a thousand dollars.I hope you are not going up there with just 500 bux because you will run out of money very quickly. |

I didn't realize you went to C2.
I'll write up a report when I get back. I think I have financial control and responsibility down pat, and I have a feeling that that's what it all comes down to. Not having to buy every little thing that has a signature or Star Wars on it may cut that $1000 down to a managable $300. I could be wrong, but again, I'll write up the report upon my return.

It’s not going to be that bad Robert. So far Joe and I have spent-
2 round trip plane tickets and one room for 4 nights: $600.00
2 tickets to C3: $190
2 tickets to the fan club breakfast: $99.90
For a total of $889.90 (Or $444.95 each)
We are planning to take about $600.00 (or $150.00 per day) and that should be plenty. So one could easily go for less then a grand.

just remember everything you do will be waay more expensive than doing it in waco.Going out to eat will cost you much more than in waco because it costs more to live up north,especially in the big city.I personally would'nt go unless I had about 1500.00 free and clear in my pocket(but thats just me).You have to buy something nice for yourself at a con like that.

Well, I don't have to eat out all the time. I ain't too proud to stop off at the local supermarket and take up some sandwich fixin's.
I also want to apologize for being an ass. I'm just getting excited, and I'm depressed that we aren't all going. I was hoping that we'd all go, and I mean everyone! I understand that it isn't going to happen, and I will get over it. I'm just having problems accepting that true fans won't be going! And I know everyone here is a true fan, otherwise Dan and Vince would be heading things up around here.

I think the only things I want to buy are a T-shirt (the top left one), the figure case, the figure (duh), and probably the program book. Although a lot of that looks cool, I don't need it all. I would like to get the set of badges, but I didn't realize it would be $75. If it was like $30, I'd lay the cash down!

I looked through my things. Here are some things I thought I might get signed...   What I thought was interesting: 4 issues (one year) of Bantha Tracks dated Nov. 1981, Feb 1982, May 1982, and Aug 1982. My fave is the Falcon whittled out of a bar of soap. Great stuff. Return of the Jedi DIXIE cups. Various images on the cups, including many extras and also (of course) Luke, Leia, Han, and Lando. Various activity books, Vader, R2, and Luke. Not in the best shape, but quite high on the sentimental value. Nothing like staring at the dot on Vaders or Obi Wans nose for a few seconds and then blinking while looking at a blank wall. |
