From th.Force.net The FilePlanet Galaxies Trial we talked about almost two weeks ago, has now been released to all members of FilePlanet, meaning while you may have to register an account, you can download the trial for free! Hop on over to Fileplanet now and get in line to download the 2 GB file. As of this typing, the estimated wait time is "98 minutes" before you can get your download, but since this is pretty much impossible for non-broadband users, just get in line! =) Thanks to Darth_Ghenna for the heads up! www.fileplanet.com/download.aspx?f=140938

I averaged 1.94 Mbps, and it claims I downloaded it in 2hrs 11mns, but in the real world, it actually took over 9 hours. I started at 10:30 last night, and it finished roughly about 7:30 this morning. What really blows my mind is that if one were to download it with dialup...

yep. pretty much. unless you know what you're doing, then it doesn't take quite as long. Besides, if you finished a mission quick, then how long would you play? A month, two? They're going for longevity here, because that's where the money is.

If anyone else is in on it, I'm in the Intrepid Galaxy, Tattooine (currently Mos Espa) and the name's Tin'Chris Otecm.

Ah Jesus I hate this game. You run around. You kill things, you do things, you get experience, you do some more things. But it's just like life, you're always effen broke as hell and effen things up so that they suck.
But other than that it's a lot of fun.

I have approximately about a 53 minutes wait in line.

The wait time is usually fairly accurate, but the download time is waaaay off. It told me that I had about 3-4 hrs to download. At 7:30, it was still going, after 9 hrs.... sheesh. Reminded me of setting up a download at 10p on dial up, just to wake up in time to see it finish. Heh, but that was only like 10 MB

Oh, cool. Maybe I picked a bad server and a bad time, but I was also on the free public server. I'm sure if I'd been on a paid server it'd been faster.
I'm in Wayfar now, hiking it to Mos Elcona or whatever it is... Shuttle port is there. Trying to get off this rock.

Dunno.... probably the time... or maybe my connection isn't as fast as I wanted it to be.
