Yeah, if you just type xbox 360, you get about 3 times the auctions, because those are including the games, the "EXCLUSIVE" and "ONE OF A KIND" email addresses and screen names and the like. One of th Hotmail addresses went for over $800! Apparently people aren't reading what they're bidding on. I saw an auction that some guy had made a cardboard replica of the 360 and it sold for over $200!
If I'd have had the cash, I would have bought 2 systems, sold one on the spot for about $500 or $600 (ala C3 Vader) to fund my system. But hey... it all comes down to supply and demand. Low supply and high demand equals high prices.
Talked to Brent at Gamestop today. Looks like I should be able to pick mine up this evening... hopefully. If I wasn't wanting mine so badly, I'd proably throw it up for auction, but after playing PGR3 and CoD2 yesterday, I'm eagerly awaiting...
Oh, and the TV should be fixed by next Friday. Hopefully. If you didn't know, the TV I was using in the living room stopped working one night. Power woudn't come on. So I got the info I needed and some TV repair shop is coming out Friday after this to fix it. I'm really glad my mom got that insurance plan when she bought that TV.

Yeah, I'd find it hard to believe that MS didn't make enough consoles for one. Two, that they'd miss out on Black Friday because of 'shipping' problems. Whatever. I think by Friday afternoon, this guy will feel like an idiot. He'll be waiting for his in the mail, while the REST OF THE PLANET fires up their consoles for some serious non-stop gaming. But seriously folks, if you're going to game, don't drink, and if you're drinking, don't game.

only a fortunate few rich people can afford that. The majority of the money in this country is being held by the top 1.5 percent out of 100 percent of the poplulation in the U.S.

I am deleting my old live account. I started a new account, and am currently downloading the maps for Halo2.
that way I can play Live through my 360. Oh Yeah, Brent came through this afternoon!

So for 400.00 dollars your live accounts don't transfer?

You can most certainly transfer your current live account and use either the original or 360.

You can transfer your old live account, and it's pretty easy to do, from what I saw. I just chose to start a new account. And from what the lady was telling me on the phone, you can even change your gamertag of your account.
I've really enjoyed it. I've only played PGR3 a little, but I played Halo2 a lot with my bro-in-law yesterday, and Rod came over too. The software emulation they use for the original xbox games makes the graphics look really good. It does slow down a little when there's all 8 people in one area shooting like crazy, but it still moves good. Everything looks real crisp and nice - even on my old JVC TV (the philips I'm borrowing from my mom should be fixed next week, thanks to the plan from BB). I can't wait to see what it looks like connected to the component jacks on the philips. If it looks this good on an old TV, then it must look magnificent on the newer stuff. I know that PGR3 and CoD2 looked great on John's uncle's LCD HDTV.
On the downside, since I did start a new account, I had to download the Halo maps again, which took a long time it seemed. And this thing gets HOT. I put it inside the entertainment center, next to the old xbox and it is hot hot hot. When the discs come out, they almost burn your hand. So, I think I'll have to find a new place for it. I may move the kids DVDs and put it on the shelf above the TV. Since the controllers are wireless, the cords won't hang down in front of the screen.
So far, I have been really impressed with not only the 360, but the updated live dashboard, and the quality of everything. I suggested to the lady that I talked to on the phone yesterday that they need a belt clip for the controllers.

I was messing around with it this morning, and I was able to set it up to stream music from the computer to it, and also view pictures on the TV. Pretty cool. If you have the Media Center version of XP, then you can do a lot more.
You can also connect your Digital Camera to it, as well as your MP3 devices (like iPods) and what not. I think they really put a lot of thought into this... and it shows.

I thought 911 was a joke... (Public Enemy)
Yeah, I was surprised that no one had any boxes today. Christy went out this morning and she said TRU had nothing. We traipsed over to Target and they had a few games, but that was it.
Robert, just chill out for now. There will be some soon, I'm sure. I'm thinking of finding the Media Center version of windows and converting to that. I think it'd be cool to actually use the xbox as more than a console. Currently the kids are being mesmerized with the sounds of Portishead and the freaky visualizations on the screen. All coming from the computer.
I haven't played PGR3 online yet, but the single player is fun. CoD2 has a great single player, but the online play right now is a bit laggy. I think Halo2 really set the bar high for FPS and online gaming. I played a few rounds of CoD2 online this morning and it wasn't too bad. I have to learn the controls better and learn the maps, but it has some great potential. I like the KillCam after you die.
Hang in there Robert, you'll get one, and you'll enjoy it.

searched 'xbox 360 console' again. Looks like there are some outrageous stuff out there (I think a $10,000 bid), but it looks like stuff has settled and they're going for about twice the price. Not bad, really, if you consider all the people who put up bids in excess of $1000 for a $400 system.
