Yeh, I called Robert to tell him the news at the Hewitt Walmart. There is a list you could put your name and phone # on and they'll call you when more get in. I'm #33 on the list, which is more like 21st after the 1st 12 get sold. Guess I'll try for other stores early in the morning...

Okay.... here's my drama... I stopped by GameStop to check the status. They led me to believe that I was going to get mine tonight. I stopped by after school to make sure that I was going to get it. The store manager said that they only had a few systems, and that I wasn't on the first shipment. Basically, I was told I was on the first shipment all the way up until 8:45p. Not happy. So I rolled up at 11:15 to check it out. I thought maybe if I showed up, and someone didn't get theirs, I could scoop it up, seeing as I had paid for one. I ended up waiting with Odell James for over an hour to talk to the store manager about the situation. Finally, the guy comes out to talk. Apparently he and his staff were afraid of us. He finally offered to call his boss and did. He worked it out so that Odell and I either get the first two 360s off the second shipment (which he said would be within 2 wks - possibly sooner) or we could pick up any xboxes that were preordered and not picked up. So if 2 boxes aren't picked up by Wed., then Odell and I can have them. I suggested that he get the policy changed, because where I come from, money talks and BS walks. And seeing as the two of us standing outside for almost 2 hrs had paid should stand for something. I pointed out that apparently he and I were the only 2 'dumb' enough to pay off early, since we were the only 2 there. Unfortunately, I didn't get my box as I had been expecting. But, since I did pay it off and stuck around long enough to see that the manager saw things a little differently, I'll be getting mine sooner rather than later. I would have liked to stay up till three playing games, but alas, I'll be sleeping, with dreams of race cars and WWII battles. I don't blame GameStop for anything, and I certainly don't blame the manager. I probably will patron GameStop more often, because of how the manager finally took care of us. I blame Microsoft for short shipping everyone. I'm upset with microsoft for creating this artificial demand and using it to hype the system. I could see it happening with the original xbox because it was an unknown, but to happen 2 times is not coincidence. It was planned. Hopefully I'll have my 360 before Friday, because I would like to share it with family that's coming down, but if I don't, I won't be too upset. -cuz they don't have controllers. |

I bought project gotham racing 3 today at best buy without buying the console .I went a few places this morning no console of course but I did see people with consoles in hand(the stupid few who waited all night in the freezing cold as it was in the 30's last night).There are only a handful of games everywhere I went so I went ahead and bought a game.READ MY LIPS-friday is the day when the market will be flooded with xboxs I guarantee it.Toby, microsoft was creating a false demand therefore increasing the interest in the 360 so more people would buy it in the future thats why shipments were limited at launch.thats one of the oldest tricks in the book and companies have been doing that for years.

I talked to John today, he said that he was able to get the core system at Best Buy this morning.... but he said he got up at 4a to head down there. It's all good, though, I'll have mine soon. Probably for the best, so I can get my papers written!

Yeh, I woke up really early for getting in line at Best Buy. I was planning on going other places like Circuit City, Target or maybe even Sam's if Best Buy was too crowded. There were about 25 people in line so I stayed. The first people in line got there around 8:30 Monday night. Some Baylor dude payed 3 of his friends to wait in line so he could sell his extras on Ebay for $800. Damn scalper! Oh Well, he won't be getting my $$. The manager started handing out wristbands with numbers(1-32) about 6:30 and shortly after took orders for accessories and games. I picked up PGR3 and Call of Duty 2 (I know, like Toby). I played them on my uncles lcd tv this afternoon. Man, they looked pretty sweet. Toby can attest to that. Unfortunately, I'm so dang tired that I can't really enjoy it yet. Later guys...

PGR3 is sweet. So is CoD2. Fun times ahead. The wireless controllers are effin sweet. Nothing like not getting the wires tangled. All it needs is a belt clip!

I wouldn't say people, I'd say microsoft. Even the dude at best buy was blaming microsoft for the 'marketing ploy'
All I can say is that I think Microsoft is going to hurt sales more than help them with the way they did this.
- edit - There are currently over 11,000 Xbox 360 consoles listed on ebay. The highest priced one is $50,000. The highest price with a bid is $4,500. I've wanted this console, but not that badly.

I got 31398 on eBay with highest at starting bid at 100,000 (no bid though)
The highest I saw with a bid was 1,200. Now I wish I would have picked one up. I wouldn't have thought twice about sellin' that bad boy. Turning 400.00 into 1200 sounds like a Merry Christmas to me LOL
