Last week in Digital Art, Gabby, our Czech instructor, showed us a stop motion Czech version of the pied piper. She also told us about a fairy tale about a childless couple that wanted a baby, but couldn't. So they pretended a log was their baby. It came alive and ate everyone. I think she said it was a book.. or something. I'll ask her about it tonight.

The film is called Little Otik and it's Czech, not Russian. It's really well known in Czech, much like Goldilocks and Hansel and Gretel are here. I think it was on the sundance channel recently.

Saw Capote a while back. Philip Seymour Hoffman was uncanny as Capote. I recommend it.
Also we caught Slither. Very funny I didn't find it scary at all. It was way too cheesy to scary.

Watched "The Constant Gardner" last night. I was disspointed because he didn't do a whole lot of gardening. I was expecting more tips on making the most of your garden.
But seriously, it was a pretty good movie. Lots of different emotions, tied to sections of the film. First, mystery, then love, then betrayal, then anger, and it's all the way the scenes are laid out, not cheap tactics that a lot of movies use, you know the crazy loud horn blast that makes jump, not because you're scared, but because it's loud.
Pick it up and watch it. It's a bit sobering, but quite enjoyable. I liked seeing that guy from Love Actually (rockstar) play a British official in this one.

I heard Hostile wasn't even that scary or graphic. Maybe they saved it for the DVD. Their supposed to be the ones who did that Japanese movie that was a lady slowly killing a guy with piano wire for 90min. Rob Zombie said it was the most fucked up thing he ever saw. I'm gonna buy it.

I heard Hostile wasn't even that scary or graphic. For the most part it wasn't. It took 41 minutes before any of the scary started. And before that it was just sex. If Jimmy hadn't loaned it to to Joe we wouldn't have watched it. Joe and I saw The Benchwarmers over the weekend. It was funny if you like slap stick.

I haven't seen anything! Been too busy writing on my dissertation and with my new job, but since I'm a huge Jane Austen fan, I definitely bought the Pride and Prejudice. In fact, I have all the Austen movies except that really old P & P with Laurence Olivier.
