I just finished Ladder 49 and it's a very realistic and beautiful portrayal of the lives of the firefighters and their families. The movie begins with a punch and then, starts really funny and finally, the very emotional parts followed up by the poignant ending. I really liked this movie and think this movie is something that everyone will enjoy.

I just watched the Incredibles for like the third time and it was freaking genius.
I also just watched Be Cool where I laughed my ass off from beginning to end.

We watched Ray the other night. I thought it was really good. I never knew that he was addicted to heroin. I usually don't like to see biopics, especially when the 'hero' (Ali) is adulterous. But I liked the way it was portrayed, or rather how he handled it.
Good movie. Jamie Foxx embodies the soul and the crux of Ray Charles Robinson.
Only thing I wish they'd shown was more of his movies/commercials heheh.. like his role in the Blues Brothers and that pepsi commercial he did. But, I guess that wasn't what the movie was about! heh...

I just watched Hitch and Be Cool this weekend and both are freaking hilarious. If you something with a twinge of romance, go see Hitch. If you something you can laugh you ass off the whole time, watch Be Cool.

I saw Constantine a couple of weeks ago and a movie called Fulltime Killer Thurs. I've been getting back into my Chinese and Japonese cinema. Overall I like Chinese better, but I hate that there are NO happy endings and everyone important usually dies. When I go visit there I'm going to tell the first person I meet "We get it duty & principle are important, now make a movie where the guy gets the girl and everyone's happy!"

Recently saw Collateral, which i thought was great. Also saw the 2004 release of Alamo........which was kinda .....blah........did love the scene where Billy Bob Thorton(davey crockett) was on his knees beaten and battered, before the mexican army and said, " you Santa Anna?........he nodds his head, Crockett looks around and says, " I thought he would be taller?!?!?"....lol, then of course they stab him all to be damned.........

Joe and I recently watched The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and I highly recommend this one. It was so unbelievably funny.

Saw Be Cool. Typical Elmore Leonard fare. Pretty good. My only problems with the movie were the blatant product placement and the drawn out music numbers. But that's not Leonard's fault.

Saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night. Pretty freaky, and not just Kate Winslet's hair!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith was hilarious. Well worth it. I can so see why people instantly thought Brad and Angelina were having an affair.

I also thought it was pretty enjoyable, but Deep Roy freaks me out because I kept expecting there to be that squeaky wheel sound that always preceded him in that creepy X-Files episode.
Do you think they'll make the sequel this time-Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator?
I liked the back story for Willy Wonka too.

Joe and I caught the Brothers Grim tonight. It was ok only something about it seemed off.
Not Terry Gilliam's best work but passable.

something about it seemed off. I'm guessing it's Heath Ledger's un-Ledger like appearance. Even in Monster's Ball he was good-looking, even with the bullet hole.

Yes there was an absence of prettiness on behalf of Heath Ledger. Losing those fair locks wasn't a good call. And he had an accent that really annoyed me about the halfway point.

Just caught Brothers Grimm last night--loved the special effects, great actors (Heath melts me every time ;D) and a really cool idea for a story....BUT, I thought the writing was terrible! The whole thing with the French army jumping in here, there and everywhere with no real purpose really bugged me. This is a good one to catch on DVD.
