If it was one of the best movies ever made, then why do they have to release two versions of it? Seems like if it was one of the best movies ever made, there would only be one version of it, or they'd at least wait 20 years and then re-release it with Frodo shooting first.

They are releasing two versions for the same reason Lucas released so many versions of the OT on VHS-- $$$! But New Line won't fool me out of my $, I have waited patiently for the Extended Version.
Elizabeth, why do you hate the Two Towers? You didn't have a fit coming out of the theater the same way you did Matrix Reloaded, did you?

Oh no the Matrix Reloaded was special kind of crap. It was once in a lifetime crap.
TT was just dull. Talking trees, shots of Frodo the ring looking worried, and no enough dirty sweaty Aragorn.

I can't imagine what the crap they left out of the Return of the King. It's a great movie and all but that movie seemed like it was never going to end and to make it even longer. I can't imagine.
