Looks like this is going for about $50 on ebay. Highest Buy it now is $155, highest bid is $152.... makes me wonder just how bad I want mine.... With about 1400 of them on Ebay, I don't think you could get much of a premium on yours if you tried to sell it. Whoever would bid $152 on a brand new figure is insane. 50,000 is not that rare, 5,000 maybe, not 50,000. I'm holding on to mine regardless of value.

50,000 isn't that rare compared to 5,000, but if you think about it, less than half the people in Waco could own one if they all came here. It's pretty rare in my opinion. Especially when you compare it to the population. For example, there are roughly 22 million people in Texas. If only 1% of them are Star Wars fans, that's still 220,000 Star Wars fans in Texas. If only 5% of them are 'collectors', then that leaves us with 11,000 people wanting a Target Vader. That's over 1/5th of the available Vaders. So, if you look at it that way, they're pretty rare.
But I don't think you could get a whole lot for selling one right now. You could possibly get $20 for it (that's selling it for $13 + $7 shipping); heck you might even double the price and get $30, but I think the $152 is a fluke.

Funny... I heard someone say that the CIII Vaders were at about 500,000....
The Target Vaders could very well be the most limited run of the 'exclusives' right now.

Yeah, that's why every man, woman, and child were carrying 4+ vaders on them while they were there.... Yep. And I suppose that's why I was able to buy 8 (12, if I'd have stayed Sunday)
Let's do the math real quick. Roughly 28,000 four day passes were sold online. Each 4 day pass was able to buy 4 vaders each, so 28k x 4 = 112,000 vaders had to be available - just for the 4 day passes sold online. Not to mention all the single day passes sold and the exhibitor, associate, volunteer, and press people. You also have to add all the people that got vaders at the breakfasts and special events. Oh, and the 2 they had on display at the Hasbro booth. Not to bust the bubble, but even with conservative figures, there were 200,000 made. I'm willing to bet the number is closer to the 500,000 mark, since there would have been a riot in Indy had they run out of figures. God knows they ran out of everything else.
I could be way off on the numbers, but I would put money on it that the Target Vaders are the most rare of all the exclusives. The big draw is that you could only (prior to them selling them at the Star Wars Shop) if you were attending C3. Time will tell. Listening to James Earl Jones tell me to stop whining and take my force lightning like a man is worth the 7 hr wait.

ok there was 25,000 c2 jorg sacul figures made(offical number).I bet there was even fewer c3 vaders made.I will find out how many c3 vaders were made but it will take me a few days to scour the internet for the exact number.

Actually, the word at C3 was that the Jorg Sacul figures were the lowest run of figures ever. If they'd only had 25,000 at C3, you'd probably have heard how the con went bad in a hurry. The NFL draft would have had to find a new venue, and I'd most likely be dead or in a county jail in Indiana. Hordes of angry Star Wars fans would have turned ugly (well, uglier?) and GenCon LLC would have decided to close up shop for good. Lucas would have to beg to be allowed back in the city and the city of Indiana would make April 21st the official 'Death to Star Wars' day.
In line (remember I was in line for a total of about 12 hours between the two days) everyone would cringe when the lady would come on and say "Attention Customers. We are now out of ... " and shortly after about 6 people around me would say "vader figures." and the conversation would turn into a discussion as to how rabid an angry star wars fan can get. Trust me, the CIII Vader isn't as rare as you'd hope it to be. If it was rare, then I wouldn't have been able to score 8 (12 if I'd have stayed Sunday), and Joe and Elizabeth scored 6 (at least 8 more if they'd have even been the least bit interested in standing in line 7+ hours on Saturday)
It would be nice if the numbers came out and we find that there were only about 30,000 made, but I think after it's all over with, you'll find that the number made will dwarf the Target Vader.
Another reason I think they're not very rare, is because the guys weren't very interested in punching peoples badges. If there had been a truly limited number of Vaders made, then they'd have been punching badges as you entered the room.
