OT DVDs

I'm looking into something for the THX versions. If I can score something, would anyone be interested in going in on it? I don't know price right now, but I'll let everyone know wen I do.

I'm not bidding on it, I'm talking to the guy on the side. He says he might be able to get ahold of another copy, and he says he'll sell it for the average price (first set sold for $57)

As for the new ebayer/fraud claims, well, you have to start somewhere! I'd give the guy the benefit of the doubt, just as I'd hope someone would do for me.

I say if the price is alright, we could go in on it (say maybe $10/person). Then whoever kept the 'original' could make the copies for the rest of us, and if we wanted, copy the DVD inserts and the labels.
Thoughts?

EDIT- As for the quality, they're taken from the Laser Discs, which are probably second only to DVDs (and even then, probably not all DVDs) and besides, the quality can't be worse than the VHS tapes I own now.

I read through it. Basically the 1993 LD is the one to get. The THX version (One Last Time...) is the same without the added bonus material. I think it doesn't have 5.1 either, but really how badly do we need it when the SE will have it. Kind of nostalgia, back when we were happy with any sound...

Well, if we split it 6 ways, it's still less than $10 each. The plan was never to bid on it on Ebay, but to buy a copy from the guy. I know of another source, if this one doesn't pan out.

My other source (same DVDs) says $55 shipped. So, if we split it 5 ways, it's only $11 each. Sound reasonable?
