www.xboxsolution.com/article2489.html$300 gets you the console, cables, controller and faceplate. $400 gets you all that plus the HD-AV cables, 20 GB harddrive, headset, remote, and xbox live silver membership. Also, the accessories are listed with prices. 20Gb HD = $100 64MB memory unit = $40 controller = $50 play and charge cable (lets you play wired while charging the wireless controller batteries = $20 battery pack = $12 wireless network adapter = $100 headset = $20 remote = $30 S-video cable = $30 HD video cable = $40 Basically, for $400, you're buying the hard drive and they're kicking in all the other stuff.... looks real promising!

well from what I have seen of the xbox 360 so far is that the graphics will be as good or better than a pc BUT it wont be as fast (fps in games) as current new pcs will be(speed costs mucho dinero).400 dollars is a damn good price for all you get.Microsoft will make 1 quadzillion dollars at launch.

BUT it wont be as fast (fps in games) as current new pcs will be Consoles are never as good as the current top PCs, but the fact remains that this console will be the most powerful console in the galaxy. Together we can rule XBOX LIVE! Er, I don't think I'll notice any problem with the frame rates...

I said graphics are as good or better than pc so yes it will be better than pc but just lack the sheer framrates of a pc but in consoles you dont need really fast framrates anyway.

Is the hard drive of special design or can we buy a bigger one to install? I know all the other extra stuff makes the $400 version more enticing. #nerd#

I'm sure it's specific - the original was. You can't (technically) put in a different hard drive because it's tied to the mobo. But, I'm not sure how this HD is done. I know it's in a case that you can pop it in and out, even when it's on.
I have no reason to think that they'd do something that would allow us to put in our own hard drive - even if it's something as simple as having an OS that's not computer compatible.... but who knows?

I am almost 100 percent sure that you can use you own harddrive. I'm not so sure about that. I believe the HD is a 2.5" and comes in a special enclosure. I would think that the HD would also be specially manufactured for MS - mostly because who would pay $100 for a 20GB drive? But even if it isn't easy, I'm sure that shortly after it hits the shelves there will be tutorials online on how to hack/modify the drives. I just don't think MS would make it so that you could just put any HD into the xbox... As far as the release dates, here are some dates for games. The list is unofficial, but I'm sure it's a good sign. Most of them are looking at 11/02 - so it would make sense that the 360 would be released that same day. So, let's see - Ep3 and Battlefront2 release on 11/1, and the 360 on the second... now we're all really gonna be broke!!! - edit - According to this site, some Wal-Mart people are suggesting that the release date is 11/04. Also, if you noticed, Halo 3 is rumored to be released on 7/1/06...

yep your right toby, it is offered as an accessory by microsoft for 99.99.So you have to buy it from microsoft.they sure put alot of thought into the 360 because they made it were only their harddrive would work in that game system which means more money for big M. UPDATE- the wireless controller is 50 dollars !!HOLY COW.

Stopped by GameStop yesterday to see if they had any info on this...
They only have a dates for four games, and their releases are set for mid-Nov. I told him about the 2nd and the 4th rumors, but he said he wasn't sure (He being the manager that was at the Ep3 Premiere) He also said that the PSP had 4 games release prior to the PSP - so he said it's not unlikely that there'll be games available prior to the system. Oh well....
He also said if you want one, you need to put your $50 down on it soon, because he's not sure when MS will cut off their reservations, and if you don't get yours in, you won't get one on launch. I do remember that there was an extreme shortage of xbox's on their initial release, so it's possible the same will happen this time around.
