Okay, Been watching the movies. In ANH, Threepio does it and so does Han (before meeting Kenobi and diving into the garbage, respectively.) In TPM, it's an R2 unit (fixing queen's ship) and one of those things that Jabba eats. I'll have to watch more, but if you guys know, post it. Also, is there only two per movie?

encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/List%20of%20films%20using%20the%20Wilhelm%20screamhas a list of movies that the sound has been in. It lists 67 that it's been in. That's a lot! I say we start watching movies from this list just to find the sound! The first time it was used (recorded) was in the 1951 movie Distant Drums, but Ben Burtt remembers it from the 1953 film, Charge at Feather River. A cowboy named Wilhelm (duh) gets shot with an arrow in his thigh and yelps it out. I think the most surprising is A Star Is Born (Judy Garland). Also, I think it's funny that it shows up in Under the Tuscan Sun!

I think 2 isn't the number, because in addition to 3PO and Han, there is a Stormtrooper listed also. I think it's one that dies just before Luke and Leia swing across.

It's in the The Two Towers when the elf gets shot with arrow and falls over the wall at the Battle of Helm's Deep.

I've noticed that the scream is sometimes abbreviated. The trooper's fall in ANH is a short scream, but 3P0's and Han's are the full one.
