We've seen it, so now let's discuss it!
First, I want to say that I just got through reviewing the spoiler forum, and the majority of the spoilers were right. One about seeing Qui Gon talk to Yoda wasn't right (deleted scene?) and one about Palpy becoming a 'phantom' wasn't right. But other than that, they were all pretty much spot on.
Second: All in all, I enjoyed this movie, by far the best of the PT. I still think that it is sub-par when compared to the OT, but that's just my opinion.
Some things bothered me.
First, the movie takes place over at least 6-7 mos (I'll elaborate later), but it feels like it takes place over the course of a few days. I could be wrong about the timeline. I'm assuming that Padmé tells Anakin when she's about 2-3 mos pregnant.
Second, coming up with the names seemed, I dunno, unreal. Maybe that's the storybook fairytale aspect of these movies, but it's almost like Palpatine just thought up the name Vader. I was hoping that we'd have seen a little more in the thought process, but hey... it's a movie. Also, Padmé just looking at the babies and saying Luke and Leia seemed a little strange. But I understand. She really couldn't discuss names with Anakin, and she probably already had a boy and a girl named picked out, like most expectant mothers do.
Third, this movie felt like its pacing was strange. Or maybe I was tired. It felt like it was rush rush rush, sleep, rush rush, sleep, race to the end. It felt to me that the pacing was on the extreme end. I'll have to watch again to see if I'm mistaken. But then again, Lucas does like it faster and more intense.
Lastly, the appearance of Vader as we know him. I'm not so much bothered by the grief and hurt he displayed when finding of Padmé's death, but the Frankenstein-like posturing. I understand they're new legs and all, but shouldn't they have put a little more oil in the joints? His appearance should have elicited something other than big laughs...
But overall, as I said, I enjoyed this movie. It did a good job tying up those loose ends that we've all been asking each other about for the last 22 years. And the ones we've been asking about for the last 6 years, as well. This movie has made me feel emotional for all the characters that we've come to see in the PT. When 'Order 66' is given, I can't help but tear up a little as Ki-Adi Mundi realizes that his life is at an end. Poor Aayla... She couldn't even reach for her saber to defend even one shot. I think this movie was a great end to the prequels. I enjoyed the humor, I enjoyed the fear and hate, I became emotionally involved in this like none of the PT movies. And that's something I've not felt since....
