reported that there are parallels in ROTS talking about Bush. They reported that Anakin has a line that says: "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy." They say that this is similar to Bush's "...not with me, ... against me." statement. They also said that there's an order that is similar to the Patriot act, and Padmé says something to the effect of "this is how freedom ends, with thunderous applause."
Roeper stated that you could find political statements in any movie if you look for them. He also said that sometimes movies are just movies.
Lucas answered from Cannes (at a press conference) that he'd written this movie before there was an Iraq, and that we were still funding Saddam and sending him WMDs.
I think it's the media trying to stir up trouble. About the only 'political' move that Lucas ever made was calling the bad guys Nute Gunray (Newt Gingrich, R. Reagan) and Lott Dodd (T. Lott, ?. Dodd), because he didn't like the Republicans calling the SDI "Star Wars."
Besides, anything Bush says is probably some overused cliché that can be found in all B-movies and even the cornier blockbusters. At least Ah-nold can make fun of himself sometimes.
