Here's something I'd like to share:

Air Force Locales

The default view is of Bahrain, the last place I went TDY. If you zoom in, you can see where the tents were set up. We lived in tents within that semicircle road. Along the edges were auto tracking machine guns that would fire at anything that set it off - they really deterred runners at night.

If you zoom out a little, you can see the runway. This is the general area where we worked (also out of tents). I was there from November of 97 to January 98. We got back just in time for the Super Bowl, which I had no idea who was playing. We were 9 hrs ahead, so all the football games were played late at night, if we even got them.

Be sure to check out the other places. There's one in Alaska (late summer of 97), Iceland (winter 96), Vegas, etc. Some of them are places I trained at, some are places I visited. Oh, and the dorm at Eglin is marked just about where my room was, on the second floor.

I really enjoyed my time in the Air Force, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I hope you enjoy looking at the places I went while I was in the Air Force.

Wierd. Worked when I previewed it. now it doesn't. Hmm...

- edit - I redid the link. I signed out of Yahoo! and clicked the link and it worked... sooooo hopefully it works fo you.
Also, it's a .kmz file (google earth) so if it's not installed on the computer, it won't work.
