You weren't wearing your glasses, were you? Sounds to me that you have some anger issues that need to be worked out. I too used to get very angry while driving, but once I realized that I have no control outside my vehicle, my anger subsided a lot. Remember to give yourself plenty of time to get to where you're going. It's okay to arrive a few minutes early. If you're going to be late, accept it and deal with it. Speeding and driving aggressively usually never has a positive outcome (usually a ticket, accident, or in more heavily populated areas - gunshots). Just remember, it's not a race, there's no prize for getting to the stoplight first, and being curteous to other drivers will take you a long way. I've really changed my driving habits since David was born, and even before then, I started driving more defensively and less aggressive. I haven't had a speeding ticket since Jan '99, and have only been pulled over once or twice - one of which was an expired registration. Remember, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. These are the paths to the dark side.

It's just the Holidays Robert it will claim back down. And you can always be thankful you don't live in Dallas.

Amen to that Elizabeth!
Coming from living in places like Southern California and Seattle, Washington, Waco is A-ok in my book!

Ohhh yeah, I forgot about Seattle. Granted, I've only been as far as SeaTac, but I remember seeing all the construction on the news there.
And lest we forget what Hillsboro was like in the not too distant past. Christy and I had gone to Dallas for some reason and on the way back, the traffic was horrible. We pulled off at Carl's Corner, used the restroom, bought some sodas, and got back on the road, RIGHT NEXT TO THE CARS WE WERE NEXT TO WHEN WE PULLED OFF!!!
crazy.
Unfotunately, we as Americans don't feel the need to anticipate change. We never do anything until it's too late, and then it's usually some sort of band-aid effort that only works temporarily. In order to really prevent traffice problems in a growing city, the infrastructure has to be looked at and the trouble spots attended to. If you look at Austin, you can (usually) make North-South travel relatively easy. Try going east and west and it's nothing but a big headache.
Hopefully Waco will see some problem areas and address them prior to them becoming a serious issue. I think Waco's done a dang decent job keeping the busy roads paved well and wide enough to support the traffic. The Franklin/New Road intersection is an example of that. I would think that Sanger, from New Road to Hwy 6 should probably be widened to 4 lanes, instead of the current 2. But, that would be a big problem and almost no one would be able to use Sanger in the mean time.
Overall, I think Waco has a pretty good system of roads and keeps them fairly well maintained. My only concern is that the city stays a step ahead of the traffic.

Hi guys couldn't help but notice ya'll are talking about crowded roads. Now I know I don't live in Dallas but I thinkI have an ok idea of DFW traffic in general and truthfully it isn't that bad; it's actually pretty simple if you have a choice don't be on the road between 7-9, 12:30-1:30, 2:30-4,5-6:30,& 7-9. Also, as a general rule stay away from I-30, Downtown Dallas, S360. Finaly, drive like you're your own country making temporary alliances until you need to change lanes or get off and you're fine.

If you have to go to downtown Dallas go Sunday morning around 6:00am.
When I went to NYC in '99 my uncle went to mass Sunday morning. I got up late and walked to meet when the service was over. I got there about 15 minutes before it ended so instead of risking be a nuisance I waited for him on the steps.
I sat two blocks away from Time Square and no one passed me. When mass let out the uncle and I walked to Wall Street and found it deserted. When I was shocked he just said it is always like that on Sunday morning.
