My daughter Megan is a huge Teen Titan fan, especially Raven. She REALLY wants a Raven costume (mom's attempt using an old table cloth and having her wear her old gymnastics suit just isn't cutting it). Anyway, I looked online for Raven costumes and found one of those typical kid Halloween ones that are very cheaply made and priced high. I see those as a waste of money. Alas, I call on the costumers here--any suggestions on where to start? The costume looks fairly simple--purple cape, black leotard, grey tights, purple "elf" boots and a few accessories.

It doesn't look too difficult. I think we may have a hood/cloak pattern here, but it may be too big. I would look for puple fabric, and get enough to make the cape/cloak and use the same material to make some little booties that would cover her shoes. Grey tights, black leotard, maybe a modified ski mask for the face, and a women's belt from Wal-Mart that resembles her belt. I'll aks Christy if she'd be interested in making the hood/cape/cloak and booties. Usually she only asks that you provide the material (including thread) and the pattern. Of course, she hasn't turned down any tips either. I'll show her and see what she thinks.

Thanks Tob, you (and Christy) are the best. If she has time great, but if not I COMPLETELY understand. Between keeping tabs on two little ones and working, I know I'd want to fill my few spare moments with something very productive--like sleep! As for "tipping", you bet! I'd much rather pay Christy than Wal Mart!

That is EXACTLY what Megan wants!! Too cool! It looks pretty simple to put together too. Maybe I'll buy some purple material and fiddle with it a bit. Megs already has the black boots...add a black leotard, grey tights and cheap jewelry and voila!!! Thanks Tob!

Awww, shucks Looks fairly simple to put together. Here's what I'd do. Find the cloak material. I think Christy could sew up the little cloak. Black boots, leotard/unitard, fingerless gloves. For the little gold/red discs, maybe sculpy? Gold yarn for the belt?

Hey Tob,
Believe it or not, I found a purple hooded cape at Walmart the other day for 12 bucks, so it looks like Christy is off the hook. I also went to Hobby Lobby and the Card -n- Party store and found gold plastic coins, gold Marti-Gras beads that will make a good belt and some red, round plastic jewels. I also found some fat purple ribbon for arm bands. Now all we need is the leotard, tights and boots. Megs is getting pretty excited about the whole thing--hopefully it will all come together ok.

Cool
There's a dance place over by puddles there at Hewitt/84. Check there for the tights...
