James Doohan, aka Scotty from ST:TOS, passed away this morning. If there was anything more enjoyable than his character in that series, I'm at a loss.
At least we all know that he'd given it all he got. You will be missed, laddie.

He'd lived a pretty interesting life. Born in Canada to an alcoholic father, he left at 19 to join the Canadian Army and stormed the beaches in WWII. He was shot 6 times while storming the beach, one in the chest, four in the legs, and one that blew off his right middle finger, which he was able to hide during ST:TOS. He only did two television series, one in 1953 (Space Command?) and then Star Trek.
I think I might have to pick up his autobiography and check that out. He went to a drama school in Toronto after WWII on a whim and did well enough to score a scholarship to Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, where Leslie Nielson and Tony Randall were his peers.

Yep. Robert and I were playing. And to tell you the truth, I have a feeling that I heard you in the background.... but I didn't say anything.
Were you SpecialSauce134? Bagger McGuirk? Do you remember what we played? That was pretty cool... Too bad you didn't speak up!!!

Yeah, I was on Baggers team. We played again last night. Next Wed. we're going to get together w/ some friends and hook up 2-3 boxes if you want to coem it would put us at 10 I think.
