If anyone remembers, Rod and Cindy were telling us about geocaching the last time we got together at my house. Well, I finally looked it up and it's pretty intriguing! There are 473 caches within 45 mi. radius of Waco. Makes me want to go out and get a GPS unit! www.geocaching.com is the site I was looking at. Cindy, are you guys members of this site? If so, what's your user name? Also, I think it'd be cool to tag along with you guys some day when you hit another trip out!

Oh yes, we are members of the site! We are the comments posted by Rackin (please excuse the bad spelling when you read them--Rod can't spell to save his life!) It really is a lot of fun. Megan really enjoys it. We usually go in the evenings and on the weekends before it gets too hot. We found about 4 caches over this past weekend. The only drawbacks this time of year are bugs, burrs and branches. Many of the caches are hidden in "woodsey" areas which is fine as long as you are wearing socks with sneakers or boots. As for GPS units, they range in price from about $120 to almost $1,000. The one we have we bought at Best Buy for $160 and it works great. It may seem a bit pricey at first, but that is all you have to spend on what we are finding to be a fun hobby. As for tagging along--you are welcome any time! I'm not sure if we're going caching this weekend--we may be going to Bryan/College Station. I need to get some things at the Science Fiction Research Institute at A&M. However, if we don't go, I'm sure we will do some caching--most likely Saturday morning and/or Saturday evening/Sunday evening. I'll keep you posted.

Yeah, I'd like that. Give me a call and let me know. I have been reading up on some of the caches. There's one over on Franklin and New road. And there's one just on the other side of McArthur from here. - EDIT - ccggk2 has a cache called "Broke Sky," named for a movie that was partially shot in that area. Heh, Joe and Elizabeth should get a kick out of it!

Cool! Do you remember the coordinates of the ones you want to go to? Even the names would be helpful. That way we can program them into our GPS unit. Rod and Megan plan on going caching tomorrow (Thursday) evening. I will be busy doing my good deed for the day--feeding the homeless at our church. We also plan on caching on Sat. morning/Sat. evening and possibly Sun. evening. Could you e-mail me your phone # again Toby? That way we can call w/exact times, etc. BTW, if anyone else wants to come along too, they're more than welcome!
