He's the biggest movie star now. His movies have outgrossed every other actor's movies, including Harrison Ford, who is number two.

That, and the fact that he's been in over 70 movies to date, including Jurassic Park and Pulp Fiction. Other notables: Goodfellas, various Spike Lee movies, True Romance, Kill Bill v.2, xXx, and The Incredibles. With Coach Carter out now (no.1 this past weekend) and Ep3 this summer (not to mention the xXx sequel), he should be pretty damned untouchable for several years.
EDIT - Jackson has 86 listings under film, but 4 haven't come out yet (including Ep3 and xXx2), and 16 weren't released in theaters (including video games, videos, and TV shows/series). Harrison is number 2 on the list, and he has a total of 47 listings. Six of his are not 'films', and he has 3 movies in waiting, including Indiana Jones 4 in 2006. I don't think he'll catch up to Jackson. Possibly ever.
