Game Crazy (inside Hollywood Video) is holding a HALO tournament the night that HALO2 comes out (Nov. 8th, 10p).
I would like to get a team together (4 or more) to kick some ass. Of course, the main point is to have fun, but kicking ass would work out nicely.

Don't bother. I called the place today. It's going to be a single player tournament, meaning there'll be 4 setups, but only one person per setup, and GET THIS, you HAVE to have an MVP Card to get in. You have to BUY this card to play. It's there little membership card that gets you higher trade in prices and discounts on things. He mentioned a subscription to a magazine, but really. COME ON. It's a gimmick. I'm not going.

If someone could find us a real tournament (I wouldn't mind paying to play, but I don't want some damned discount card to a place I never go), then I think we should do it!

True, but I was hoping for a little help, since I have a test tonight, tomorrow night, english to do, and a trip to Abilene. Next week is better for me. I was hoping that someone in their travels to game places could keep eyes open. Next week I'll try to get out somewhere and see what's going on...
Ooh, I know. Robert, it is your duty to find us a HALO tournament. Try the game places, and FX in the mall.

Since Robert did nothing to help our (my?) cause... I checked in with GameSpot on Friday prior to leaving Waco. They're having a tournament, but the only catch is that you have to pay for the game in full prior to its release (and prior to signing up). Not really a bad thing since we're all getting the game anyway (except Joe, who probably will get it through Target) But that still leaves us with only 3 players tops. Signups either started last Saturday, or today. I'll get the info as I can, but I need to know if we're going to do this. I wouldn't ask Joe to give up his discount, but if he was interested in the tournament.... Rod? John? Robert? |
