When I first saw Finding Neverland, knowing that Johnny had gotten the Oscar nod the year before for Pirates of the Carribean, I was for sure that he was going to take it home for this role because he was so charismatic in totally the opposite kind of way. He was perferctly endearing as a low key kind of character that went against convention. Then, I saw Collateral and Ray and was totally blown away by both of Foxx's performances. Again, two completely different roles but both performed brilliantly. Leonardo is a good actor when I think he wants to be. He was robbed for What's Eating Gilber Grape and he should have at least gotten a nod for his role in Titanic, everyone else in that movie did. I think another actor that has been robbed is Jim Carrey for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind which shows yet another facet of how Jim can be funny without falling down or getting hurt. He will always be Joel to me for a long while. I can't really comment much on the girls because I have only seen Eternal Sunshine with Kate Winslet which was yet another spectacular perfomance for one of the best actresses that have yet to take home a statuette. She has delivered with every perfomance from Sense and Sensibility and on. I will see Million Dollar Baby which I have no doubt that Hillary Swank delivered on because we all know what she can do with Boys Don't Cry. As you all can tell, I love movies and I used to love my job where I got to talk about movies all of the time.

Just that I didn't care about any of the movies. Since movies like Fahrenheit 9/11 and The Passion of the Christ were passed over it seemed like just another dull year.

Well, I will have to beg to differ. It was definitely not a year of Blockbusters but it did have Friday Night Lights, Finding Neverland, Ray, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, Napoleon Dynamite, Incredibles, and Spider-man 2. I loved them all and I am sure I am missing some more.

Whatever John. Most of the movies have made a ton of money in rental and sales. They just had a slow start in the movie theaters.

And once again just because a movie makes alot of money doesn't mean it's good.

Some might argue that blockbusters have ruined the film industry.

I totally agree with Elizabeth.
Just watch Ray. It was phenomenal and everyone enjoyed it.
