Joe and I bought the Firefly box set tonight. We just watched to first episode and it was pretty good. Kinda like a space western with good writing

Too bad Fox cancelled the show. They've cancelled a lot of my favorite shows over the last few years- Dark Angel, John Doe, Fast Lane and Titus.

Joe and I are almost done with the series and I must say it’s amazing. I mean how could you not love a show where a major character gets shot and/or stabbed in every episode And every time someone curses it is in Chinese.

A guy (old guy) at work was telling me he liked this and was looking to burn a copy. I told him about you guys liking it so much. He said he was dissappointed that it ended, but was looking forward to the movie. Man, it blew me away! I totally didn't expect this guy to start telling me about sci-fi. Goes to show...

Watched disc one today. I'm liking it so far. Reminds me of Farscape, but with a different premise, and less british (Maybe I'm just thinking of that Yoda-esque bastard). I can dig it.
So, the discs are in order chronologically, or as they were written... but they aired it out of sequence?

Yep Fox aired them out of sequence
So no one saw the first 2 until the show had been canceled

Just finished it. Watched out of sequence too. Disc 1, 2, 4, 3. Christy saw them (and liked them, BTW) 1,3,4,2
Nice filling in the gaps. Looking forward to the movie.

The special features are pretty good too.
The commentaries on Serenity and Trainjob are interesting. The deleted scenes for Serenity are really cool too.

Haven't watched all the special features yet. Saw the serenity/trainjob stuff, and some of the interviews dealing with the series and its cancellation.

Universal has announced a date for the movie. It will be out in April 22, 2005. And we are going to be in Indianapolis. The title is Serenity...but everyone is calling it the Big damn Movie.

A couple of things I liked about this show: No Aliens. Strange for a space movie, but relieving. Also, I bet it was a decision to shave off the budge.
No sound in space. At first I thought WHAT? NO SOUND? Then I was happy, since it made it that much more 'realistic'. I also think this was a budget decision, but both were good in my opinion.

Oh, and Wash is an El Paso native. That means he's a Texan. I like him, especially the character he played in Knight's Tale.
