When we were watching ANH and we saw the man in the hallway of the Falcon, we said it wasn't Obi Wan, since he had just sat strapped in. Watching it today I realize that it is Obi Wan. It's the editing that did it. Just before they jump to lightspeed, Han tells them to go strap in. It cuts just before Obi Wan gets too far into the hall.
I think that when they were filming it, they had Ford runs several lines, in no particular order, and the part that we see with the man in the hall was supposed to be at the end of the 'lightspeed' scene. But the editor put it where he did, and we see Obi Wan leave after he's already buckled in.
