Where are some places that you guys like to eat? I know we all enjoy Jason's, but where are some little tucked away places, or some little item tucked away in the corner of the menu that you like?
I like to sneak over to Wienerschnitzel and grab a Chicago Dog from time to time. It's a hot dog, but it has things you normally find on a hamburger, like tomatoes.

The Polish sandwich and Wienerschnitzel rock too.
Joe and I love Rosa's on Valley Mills. And on Tuesday the Taco plate is 2.99 (3 tacos with rice and beans) hmmmmmmmmm

I've been meaning to check that out, but I forget about it all the time. And I still kind of shudder when I see Cheddar's. Just a little.

And I still kind of shudder when I see Cheddar's. Just a little. Me too.. Joe and I went back and had a much better time. It was at an off time and the service was still a little slow but the milk shake rocked.

There's a new Summer Palace on Hewitt Drive if anyone's in the mood for Chinese...

I have had bad experiences with Summer Palace.
I want to try that place on Park Lake, Happy Wok? it's just behind the Bush's Chicken there. It looks like one of those places that either has great food, or great food poisoning. Hell, it might be a great place to try dog. *snicker*

The Summer Palace on Hewitt Drive isn't all that good. Joe and I ate there in December and I wasn't very pleased.
The Happy Wok is pretty good though. My dad eats there a lot. It is cheap too.

When I was in grad school at Baylor, I really loved Health Camp. Really good cheap hamburgers and like 800 (well, close to it) flavors of milk shakes!
It was by the Elite. Is is still there?
And another fave of mine was Buzzard Billy's. We used to go on Friday evenings and get the crawfish buckets. I know it's an acquired taste, but I love 'em.

The Elite is still there, but it's not that good. Never been to Health Camp though...

Health Camp's been there forever. My mom used to eat there when she was in high school. And it's still there.

I haven't been to the Elite since it changed owners (again).
The ladies at work said it was pretty good.

We ate at Hooter's yesterday afternoon. If you like Hooter's, you'll like this Hooter's. It's fun, not too crowded, and TVs are all over the place. There was a girl there that was a supervisor over at the HEB in Hewitt....
And the funniest thing was that my cousin's cousin was there (we share an aunt/uncle, or to put it more confusingly- my mom's brother was married to his dad's sister) and sat at the table across from us. David slept the whole time, and Zada was the most popular girl there.

After coming back from visiting my grandparents in Austin, we stopped at Hooter's last night. Nichole met us up there for dinner.
Last night was the first night of their crab leg special, $8/lb. Not something you come across to often, so Christy and Nichole being the crab leg lovers they are ordered some. I didn't really want crab legs last night so I ordered the 10pc wings (3mi. island).
Waitress brings out David and Zada's chicken strips and they eat them down. Then Christy's legs come out. COLD. Nichole's were the same. Sent them back. They cam back again, COLD. Now my wings came out, and they were only warm. I sent them back. Christy's and Nichole's legs come out, this time they've been boiled properly (we hope), but my wings didn't come. David is getting fussy and so I take him out and play a little while. Then my wings show up. I go back in to eat them, but can't, because David is tired of being there. So Christy scarfs her legs down and takes David home so I can eat, and finish up.
After all this crap, they only discounted us half the price of the crab legs. The manager evidently isn't too hot with customer service. He should have comp'd the crab legs after they weren't hot the second time. He should have discounted my wings - no, comp'd them as well, since their wings are "NEARLY WORLD FAMOUS".
I don't know what was going on, but we're not eating at Hooter's anymore. If we want crab legs, we'll either boil them ourselves or hit up Red Lobster. For wings, hell, I can go just about anywhere and get decent wings.
I'm not saying you shouldn't go if you want, I'm just saying that they didn't give me anything I couldn't have gotten somewhere else.
