Bad news: Wedge broke loose yesterday, climbed the fence and fought with the neighbor's dogs. Neighbors called the dog catcher and now Wedge is at the pound, and probably soon to be put to sleep, since he looks so much like a pitbull.
Good news: Christy found an abandoned kitty yesterday at work and we're taking care of it. David named it Button last night, and that kitty follows him around everywhere.

Poor Wedge. I'm so sorry he is a sweet dog. Maybe someone at the pound will see that. But I know the policy on pits even though it is pig ignorant. Pits are great dogs.

Yeah, I hope someone takes pity, but he's got two strikes. One - he looks pit. Two - he attacked my neighbors dogs. I think that he broke loose and just climbed the nearest fence, which is where those dogs were. Then they got mad at each other and fought.
I've always thought that city ordinances on certain types of dogs are akin to racism. I've known dogs who, by breed are great with kids, but have attacked children. I've also known dogs who are naturally aggressive be very passive and friendly. Unfortunately, the government and public perception rules on this one. I think that if someone could successfully show that dog 'racism' isn't much different than human racism, then we could get these crazy laws repealed. At least have some sort of test to see how aggressive these dogs are. I've been to the pound here before, and some of these dogs that they don't put down right away are waaaaay more aggressive than many dogs who are aggressive. But because of the way they look, they are spared and given to a 'good' home. One day I'll have a big yard and I'll have a big dog, and he'll be nice, and he'll be loving, and he will attack city officials. hehehh.. j/k.

I meant to say you, Chirsty, and kids have my sympathies. If you need anything let Joe or I know.
Hope David isn't too upset.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.
I don't think David's been too upset, because he's been playing with is kitty pretty nonstop for two days now! He loves his little Button and makes sure it (can't tell yet) gets to the pet carrier (home) often. He also makes sure that Button doesn't mess with Zada, and makes sure that Button gets plenty of attention.
It's kind of funny, but the cat we've taken care of since we moved here, Daisy, doesn't let just anyone pet her. Even when Christy or I try to pet her, she just darts off. But she lets David pet her, even while she's eating. Button isn't as scared as Daisy is, but Button really takes to David better than the rest of us. Maybe David will become a regular Dr. Doolittle!

Too bad about Wedge Tob--If we didn't have three dogs already, we'd be down at the pound to pick him up. Megan loves him, but we are at our max for pets right now. Maybe someone else will fall in love with him before he's sent on to the great hydrant in the sky.
