I can't afford it I have no real need for it but I have one.
Thursday David at work sold me a brand in box iPod. It's the 20GB model with a color display. Friday Joe and I picked but the iTrip so we could listen to it in the car.
I must I love the thing. I've got all the Star Wars soundtracks on so far. It is soooo cool.

At 128kbps (CD Quality - anything less is 'fuzzy' and anything higher is a waste of space), you get roughly 1 minute of music per MB. So, at 20 gigs, you get about 340 hours of music, which is more than 14 days straight of nonstop music. One GB is about 17 hrs of music. The most a CD can hold is 74 mins of music, so 20GB can hold over 276 CDs. One GB can hold over 16 CDs.
Pretty cool stuff. I don't think I own enough CDs to fill up a 20GB iPod, and even if I did, I probably wouldn't want to listen to all of them anyway. I mean really, a lot of my CDs are in the garage for a reason!
I'm assuming that your travel kit converts the iPod to various FM frequencies? What frequency do you tune into, because my little cheap $30 mp3 player has about 8 and only one or two come in very clear around here. Now if I were to buy a USB hard drive enclosure, I could have me a 80GB mp3 player in the car... which would be over 1300 hrs of music, or over 1100 CDs....

Did he sell it for less than retail? I'm thinking of getting one for Christmas...Yeah it retailed for 299.00 and I got in for 250. I'll bring it to the next meeting so you can play with it. What frequency do you tune into, because my little cheap $30 mp3 player has about 8 and only one or two come in very clear around here. The iTrip lets you chose the best frequency from 88.7 to 107. The hard part was finding a station that stayed clear but once we did it worked that a charm. One GB can hold over 16 CDs.Not really. I've one and a half GB in use right now and 200 tracks. That figure assumes all your songs are 3 minutes. Most of the tracks on the SW soundtracks are well over the 3 minute mark.

Moral of my story? Rip your CDs at 128, or convert them to 128 and you'll get more music on your mp3 player.
That's cool that you can choose any fm frequency. I get to choose from about 8 presets. Not a big deal, since there's usually nothing from 87.7 up to 90.5 anyways.

honestly that was waaaayyyyy to much to read.
I've got 353 songs on it right now with an 18.5 capacity I've used .90 GB or 942 minutes of music.
But man should you hear this thing. My dad who is a sound fanatic was impressed.
