wow, standard cable channels look like CRAP on my hdtv.I did see another hdtv just like mine displaying hd channels at circuit city and it was awesomely clear.I guess non-hd channels would look like crap considering this is a hdtv, go figure.I will be getting an hd cable box this week which is good.

Its just looks plain worse, thats all.Is not the tv because I saw one at cc and it looked awesome with HD channels.I remember seeing a toshiba 26 inch tube hdtv at bb and it did this exact same thing as mine is doing.they had standard def channels playing on it and it didnt look good. For some reason hdtv crt tvs dont display analog channels with good quality.

Went to Best Buy this morning to take the Xbox 360 HD cable back since it would not use the optical cable for 5.1. Had to go to Circuit City to find the Official Microsoft HD cable instead of the crappy Pelican brand I got at Best Buy. I didn't see any 360's at either place....

well,I made up my mind ,I am not buying one because microcrap refuses to ship any.It obvious they are trying to minimize their losses per unit by making fewer consoles.I dont know why I didnt think of that sooner.bye 360 and a big F U to microsoft.

Sorry to hear that Robert. I think you may change your mind later when there are more units readily available.
From what I've heard, the 360s that were given away throught the Mountain Dew promotion were buggy, and a few of the launch units had some problems, so they have looked into the problems to make sure those problems don't occur again. I don't think that they're not shipping in order to 'minimize their losses', because that doesn't make any sense. They're not making all their xboxes and then selling them on ebay for double the price (at least I wouldn't think they would).
At first I thought it was a marketing scam, to drive up the demand for the 360s. But when they didn't ship any out for 'Black Friday,' and haven't shipped any out since launch, it makes me believe that it's not so much a marketing ploy as there is something wrong with their production chain, or something like that.
I think you should just wait it out a little longer and hang in there. It's well worth it, believe me. I just wish that I had more money for a couple of more games.

I have waited before and it doesnt work, sorry.I am sick and tired of their "shipping out every week" lies. They are just trying to minimize their losses per console by shipping a small amount to the stores.

I don't understand the 'minimize their losses' part.

I just read that the 360 supports mouse and keyboard. Only thing is that the developers have to take advantage of it to use it.

Hmmm. Bummer. Maybe they changed their strategy to release the 2nd shipment with Halo3? heh - you know, instead of coinciding with the PS3 release?

I don't understand the 'minimize their losses' part. MS loses 125 dollars per console so they just cut back on the number of consoles made to minimize their losses.I guarantee you will not see any on the shelf this year.

Still doesn't make sense. Why would any business put millions of dollars into research, design, and production to just sit on the product? If anything, the first production run costs the most, and all subsequent production runs cost less, due to the streamlining of the production, as well as cheaper parts and other variables. The X1 had 7 versions - 1.0 and 1.1 were almost simultaneous in their runs, then 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6. 1.6 is the model that finally thwarted (or so they thought) the modders.
So spending all that money on research, development, design, production, and not to mention marketing and advertising, only to sit back and not sell any product? Ridiculous. I would believe more that it's a problem in buggy machines, problem in shipping, and even marketing ploys, before I believe it's some sort of scam to prevent losing money on consoles. If that was the case, then there would be no 360 right now.
Halo 3, according to Bill Gates, will launch the same time as the PS3. This is so that Microsoft can put a kink into Sony's plans to rule the gaming industry. Based on the sales of Halo 2, it might just happen. I do believe that the 360 is better than what the PS3 will be (solely based on what they've done to Xbox Live), no matter what Sony does.
If Sony does want to beat Microsoft this round, then the PS3 is going to need everything the 360 has, and about $150 cheaper. Sony needs to develop a better online environment (if they have one at all), and they need to make it less a gaming console and more an entertainment center. I think Sony's got their work cut out for them.
