I really think the Academy Awards don't know what they are doing. How did a song like "It's Hard Out There For A Pimp" could possibly win? Yet ROTS could not even be nominated for special effects? This show was a complete joke.

This show was a complete joke. They are just playing to the black crowd. The Oscars are pretty much a joke every year. The People's Choice Awards are almost as bad.

What? I'm just stating a fact. All these award shows are getting worse by the year. I don't even bother watching the Grammy's or The American Music Awards since Rock music is almost always getting the shaft.
BTW, "Battle of the Heroes" should have been at least nominated for Best Original Song and The Episode 3 soundtrack for Best Original Score.

its called popularity, what our youth listen to now is rap and hip hop, like it or not its the truth.Rock music just isnt as popular as it was 10 years ago.I prefer rock music but rap and hip hop is more popluar now thats why you see more of it on award shows.("tries to please both John and toby, lol")

BTW, "Battle of the Heroes" should have been at least nominated for Best Original Song and The Episode 3 soundtrack for Best Original Score. If it is a fact, then I need you to provide me with appropriate support. None of what you've given me seems to be more than derogatory opinions. I don't put much into award shows because it's the industry patting the industry on the back for a job well done. It's like a corporation telling all its employees what a great job they're doing. It may mean something to the employees, but to the rest of the world it matters not. I haven't seen all the movies nominated. I cannot speculate on why a movie was or was not nominated. Of the movies that were nominated, I saw one, maybe two. I do not care to discuss the politics involved in deciding what movie gets nomitated or picked to win. What I do know: Terrence Howard has been in a lot of movies this year, and every time I see him, I enjoy his performance. I really enjoyed Hustle and Flow, because of the story, the way it was told, and the characters involved. I feel that the movie could have just as easily been told from any ethnic perspective, but the most powerful and realistic setting for it was the way it was given. That's what makes a movie good, in my opinion. I don't feel that the Oscars appeal to any specific group of people. They are awards. Big deal.
